St Augustine’s Catholic Church is located at 631 Bourke Street. St Augustine’s has a long history as one of Melbourne’s oldest churches. Its blue-stone beauty has been the backdrop for many weddings and baptisms. A patch of green in the concrete tapestry of the city, the gardens have become a popular lunchtime venue for city workers.
The churches link with seafarers is evidenced by the anchor and plaque in the gardens.
