MCCIA events

Melbourne City Churches in Action conducts events such as the Way of the Cross Walk at Easter, the Blessing of the Nativity at Christmas, an ecumenical Bible study series, and other events during the year.

MCCIA also publishes and distributes brochures listing all the special services being held in the city over Christmas and over Easter. To download a brochure, go to the ‘Publications‘ tab.

MCCIA AGM & ‘Planted Places’

The Annual General Meeting of MCCIA will feature a report on the year’s activities, a financial statement, election of the executive office holders (Convenor, Secretary, Treasurer, 2 additional committee members from member churches/communities), and a presentation about the recent activities of ‘Planted Places’, engaging with the neighbourhood of the CBD on hardship, homelessness, isolation, placemaking and greening the city.

Blessing of the Nativity Scene

The annual ‘Blessing of the Nativity Scene’ will be held on Wednesday 5th December 2018, 11:45am – 12:30pm, Federation Square (Stage and Forecourt, Swanston Street).

Attended by the Lord Mayor and senior clergy of Melbourne City Churches, performing a ritual of blessing on the children’s Nativity scene, to introduce the Christmas festivities. The Salvation Army choristers will lead in singing traditional Christmas carols.
